Taylor Swift, the rarest pop phenomenon is a star who managed to move between the genres of country and mainstream culture, and has become an icon of the pop culture. The singer also swept every continent through her music. Swift shed her country roots as if they were just a second skin revealing that she was perhaps the savviest popular singer/songwriter in her generation someone who was able to harness the mood of the moment and personalize it and equally impressively do the reverse. But on the second album Fearless which came out in 2008, Swift could identify her true identity and gain a wide audience. The album was a huge success, not just in the United States, having six platinum-certified songs. In fact, the Top Ten songs Love Story & You Belong with Me were the main reasons for this. It also performed very well across the globe. Speak Now delivered almost two years later consolidated that popularity and pushed Swift to the heights of fame. The popularity of Swift only grew through her subsequent three albums -- Red (2012) 1989 (2014), and Reputation (2017) -- and found her moving assuredly into a realm of pop music in which she was already a part. She was on top of the charts until she reverted to her style with her sibling albums Folklore and Evermore in the year 2020.
