Paquin was Frankie Addams in a 1997 film adaptation for television of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding as well as a small role as the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). She played teenagers as part of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and portrayed the polexia Aphrodisa character in Almost Famous (2000).
